The sixth house from the ascendant in horoscope shows general health throughout life. Stronger sixth house indicates strong immune system whereas weak or afflicted sixth house indicates weak immune system. The malefic aspect of Mars on sixth house can give blood related issues and if a mar is posited in inimical sign or debilitated can result in major accident. Malefic aspect of Venus can give issues of addiction to smoking or alcohol as Venus represents our food habits and sixth house is also represents daily routine. Whereas malefic aspect of Saturn gives weak digestive system.

Lagna/ Ascendant or the first house denotes our physical body. First house also talk about overall physical health, built and constitution. An affliction from mars on lagna indicates fire, weapon and sharp objects related accidents. An acute affliction of Rahu on lagna indicates allergies while a powerful affliction of rahu indicate severe infections. An affliction of Saturn on lagna indicates abuse of the body parts and faster wear and tear. If Jupiter is functional malefic and afflicts lagna can result into issues related to digestion and obesity. An affliction related to mercury indicates skin related issues.

The third and eighth houses are houses of life energies. These houses reveal the ability to prevent the onset of disease or if the disease manifests, the ability to recover from the disease. If these houses are naturally afflicted the recovery process will be slow and will also be prone to secondary infections. An affliction of 12th lord on 8th house or 3rd house will result in considerable financial loss due to health issues. An affliction of the 2nd lord on the 3rd or 8th house will result in frequent sickness.

The 2nd and 7th houses are also known as maraca house of the horoscope. These houses support the onset or trigger of diseases. A benefic aspect act as blessing and malefic aspect of the house works other way around. Various malefic inflictions of 7th house are discussed below:

·         Sun can remove vitality of person

·         Moon can put a person into depression

·         Saturn can make a person extremely weak and susceptible to diseases.

·         Rahu can be fatal can even result in cancer.

 

With all these we should not ignore the importance of karaka related to health. Karaka tell us about how a disease sets in or how a disease can get cured. Sun represents out soul and it is also generally seen for health. The 7th house from sun will throw light on the timings of diseases, the intensity of the disease, and the seat of the disease. Next to sun, moon is also considered as karaka of mental health. The house occupied by moon can indicate the onset of mental diseases, recovery time and the precautions one can take to prevent the same.

Jupiter being the jeeva karaka is also considered as key karaka for good health. The 5th house from Jupiter and its relationship with the 6th lord tells about the possibility of cure. A malefic planetary combination essentially indicates no cure, while a benefic combination will indicate a possible cure.

Further, the mutual disposition of the Jupiter with Sun and the Moon, indicates how effectively the care and treatment will aid in recovery.

Combinations for health

Various planetary combinations play important role in healthcare. Certain inauspicious combinations can also trigger health related issues even if such indications are not otherwise present. On the contrary, benefic combinations can protect and prevent onset of diseases. Few of the combinations are given below:

Auspicious combination

·         If the lord of ascendant, Jupiter and Venus occupy quadrants, the immunity of the body will be high.

·         If the lord of ascendant occupies a movable sign, and is aspected by a functional benefic, the native will be strong and healthy.

·         If the ascendant is Aries, Leo or Sagittarius and Venus or Jupiter aspect the ascendant, then the recovery will be faster.

Inauspicious Combination

·         If the lord of ascendant occupies 8th house and is under the influence of functional malefic, the body is prone to frequent diseases.

·         If the lord of ascendant occupies the 6th, 8th or 12th house and is in conjunction with either the 6th, 8th or 12th lords, the person will have weak immunity.

·         If the lord of ascendant in Navamsha is either, Mars, Saturn or Mercury, the recovery period is very slow.

·         If the ascendant is either Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces and Jupiter and aspects the ascendant, then the recovery will be slow, and the body will also be of low immunity.
