Progeny and Prashna Shashtra

In our culture marriage is a sacrament and one of the aims of marriage is giving birth to children and bringing them up. This is the divine way of continuity of the mankind and hence is considered a way of repayment of debts of our forefathers of fulfilling pita rina. Thus children form the very basic fabric of human existence and around which our efforts, dreams and aspirations revolve.
Due to various reasons some couples are deprived of the blessing of being parents. There are numerous cases of delay or denial in getting children, problems relating to pregnancy, miscarriages and still births which are nothing but ramification of our past karmas, good or bad, which we must undergo to fulfill them. In spite of these, every human being wishes to get the very best for himself in life and hence wants to know the remedies for thwarting these evils.
Promise of Progeny has to be first seen in Natal/ Birth Horoscope as the Prashna Horoscope can supplement the Natal/Birth Horoscope but cannot supplant it. If there is promise in Natal Horoscope that the following combinations can be looked for promise of progeny in Prashna Horoscope:
·         PAC of Lagan Lord or Moon with 5th House or 5th Lord gives promise of progeny.
·         Lagan Lord or Moon have ithashala with 5th Lord.
·         Jupiter influences 5th Lord or 5th House by PAC.
·         The promise of progeny is not there if the Beej Sputha or Kshetra Sputha are defective.

In this paper we will cover different aspects related to progeny subject to Prashna Horoscope.
The following combination indicates that woman is pregnant at the time of prashna:
·         5th Lord posited in shirshodaya sign
·         Moon posited with benefics
·         Venus posited in or aspect Lagan or 5th House.
·         Lagan Lord and Moon posited in 5th House.
·         Sun, Moon, Mars and Venus posited in their own Navamsha.
·         Benefic planets posited in 5th House and 11th House at the time of prashna.
·         Mercury is posited in Lagan or 7th House.
·         Jupiter is in Lagna, 5th or in 9th House.
·         5th Lord and 7th Lord are posited either in Lagan or in the 7th House.
·         Benefics posited in 9th House
The following combinations relate to denial of children:
·         Sun or Saturn is in 8th identical with his sign
·         5th Lord debilitated and not being aspected by benefics
·         Malefics in 5th House and 5th Lord being weak in paapkartri yoga.
·         Mars in the 7th house.
·         Strong Jupiter is in lagan or in 9th House but Moon, Venus and Mars is weak.

The following combination relates to abortions or miscarriage:
·         Mars is posited in 8th House and being aspected by Saturn.
·         If Jupiter or/and Venus occupy 8th House.
·         If 5th Lord is in Trik House without any benefic aspect.
·         A malefic or retrograde planet is in the 5th House.
·         Mars in 5th House or in Lagna and in PaapKartri Yoga.
·         If Mars conjuncts Venus and Jupiter in 8th House.

Problems during Pregnancy
The period from conception to delivery may vary from seven months to ten months and in normal cases it lasts for nearly nine months. The Lords of the ten months starting from conception onwards are as follows:
MONTH
LORD
1st
Venus
2nd
Mars
3rd
Jupiter
4th
Sun
5th
Moon
6th
Saturn
7th
Mercury
8th
Lagan Lord
9th
Sun
10th
Moon

Whichever planet as above is weak or afflicted, gives trouble during his month to the woman during the pregnancy. The severities of affliction like malefic aspect, position in inimical signs or houses, combust or planetary war etc. determine whether these lead to miscarriage or abortion.
