Prashna Shastra under Astrology




The biggest reason for failed astrological prediction is the non-availability of accurate birth details. In the earlier days either the watches were not available or there was not much stress given to note down the exact time. Generally the deliveries were done by mid-wives at home and they were too busy in saving the life of mother and child hence ignoring the noting of time of birth. Only after they become free from other duties, the time was noted generally to the delay of 10-15 minutes from the exact birth time.
In some cases there is total mess in regard to the availability of birth details of day, month and even the birth year. We often hear from our elders of the family it was rainy season or the moon was half or full, leading to the horoscope based on approximations only. This paper deals with the wonderful field of astrology which is popularly known as Prashna Shastra or Horary Astrology.
By the study of Prashna Horoscope we cannot ignore the importance of Birth Horoscope. Any event which is promised by Birth Horoscope and being repeated in prashna horoscope is sure to occur but not vice-versa. The inter relationship of birth horoscope and prashna horoscope also reveals the status of past and present Karmas. The prashna Horoscope can only supplement the birth Horoscope and can never supplant it. However there are innumerable areas in prediction which are best be answered by prashna only.
Hence, whenever a birth chart is available, in addition to the prashna horoscope it is prudent to see the birth chart also. Even whenever accurate birth chart is available, there are many areas of knowing immediate problems and anxieties of the querist which can only be dealth with prashna chart only and the role of birth chart is minimally reduced. E.g. In case of illness the likelihood of recovery, whether the medicine is appropriate, whether the doctor is right, whether the diagnosis is correct., or in the case of theft whether the stolen property be recovered and if recovered from which direction , appearance of thief etc.

Construction of Birth Chart
The birth chart is constructed for the precise moment of birth of a child. Similarly the prashna horoscope is constructed for the moment when the querist approaches the astrologer for knowing his future. In the construction of the prashna chart many decisions are to taken carefully based on complete analysis of pros and cons.
Keeping the question in mind the predictions are made with the help of Lagan, Kendra’s and position of Moon. The main purpose of astrology is in the area of future planning, counseling and channelizing of energies or efforts in the right direction. But there are certain limitations to the prashan horoscope. It extends to the events pertaining to near past or future and may extend up to maximum of one year.
Veracity of the Question  
The prashna horoscope can also reveal the sincerity of the querist. When a person who is not sincere in his approach, or who does not have earnest desire to know the future to alleviate the sufferings the following combinations will reveal the same to the astrologer:
·         If Rahu/Ketu are making any relation (PAC)  with Lagan than the query is fake.
·         If the Moon is in Kendra and Rahu in Lagan than also the query is irrelevant.
·         If Moon or Lagan are in Paap Kartri
·         If Moon or Lagnesh are with Rahu making Ithashaal Yoga than also the question is fake.
·         If Moon is in Lagan, Saturn in Kendra and Mercury is combust , query is fake.
·         If moon is in Lagan aspected by the Mercury and Mars, query is fake.

Multiple queries  
i)        The first and the most important query should be read from prashna lagna which is fixed as per the time of the listening the prashana. Even this Lagna can serve purpose for multiple queries because different queries have different significations and Karyesha.
ii)      Another view is that first question be read from Lagna,
a)      2nd from moon sign
b)      3rd from sun sign
c)      4th from Jupiter sign
d)      5th from the sign containing Venus or Mercury, whichever is stronger
e)      6th from the sign containing less strong of the venus or Mercury.
